A Winter's Walk....
finding inspiration in the cold
I find a lot of inspiration in nature. Nature awakens all of my senses and gets my brain wandering as I wander. Nature has no walls or boundaries, it is all around all the time. There are no time limits as it is always available to me, although some days will be better then others. Nature offers its own sights, smells, and sounds you cannot fully get unless you are directly experiencing it.

I like finding new places and new trails. Each time is a new experience. When I hike in the Springtime the plants are budding and so full of potential life. They cannot wait to open and bring color back into the world. In the summer everything is bright and in full bloom. The wildlife is frolicking about and your can feel the energy along the trail. Fall is the most colorful time of year in New England and the trails are breathtakingly beautiful. The trees are exploding in shades of purple, red orange and yellow. I cannot remember if I have ever taken a hike in the winter before today. The trees were bare and the plants all brown. I was feeling alive and free, watching the puffy grey and white clouds float by in the breeze, yet everything around was asleep waiting for the Spring's arrival to awaken them again. I will not be waiting for springtime to enjoy the outdoors. When the sun is shining and the temperatures are above freezing I will be taking full advantage of filling my creative soul.
